Publication Date: 11-July-2026
Some killers run. This one is waiting to be found.
-
When a respected academic is discovered strangled and posed in a narrow lane near Holyrood, DCI Ewan McCall is called in to investigate.
At first glance, it looks like a crime of passion. A married woman. A burner phone. A jealous lover with everything to lose.
But nothing about the murder fits the pattern McCall expects.
As he and his team dig deeper into a web of lies, hidden affairs, and carefully constructed alibis, a second body is left in a place designed to be found. That’s when McCall realises they are dealing with something far more dangerous.
Somewhere in Edinburgh, a dying man is working through a list.
He has only weeks left. He knows the police are closing in. And he doesn’t care if he’s caught.
He only cares about finishing what he started.
As the investigation closes in on its final suspect, McCall uncovers a truth that changes everything he thought he knew about the case.
Because the real killer was never where anyone thought to look.
FALLEN ANGELS
Book 2
Publication Date: 27-May-2026
Some killers leave a trail. Others leave nothing at all.
-
When a retired detective is found murdered inside a locked Edinburgh church, DCI Ewan McCall is called in to investigate.
At first glance, the case seems simple. Three suspects. A dark past. A trail of secrets stretching back to Glasgow.
But nothing about this murder is simple.
As McCall and his team dig deeper, they uncover a pattern of killings spanning years — women silenced, evidence buried, and a predator who has learned how to adapt.
Every lead points to the same place. Every suspect looks guilty.
And yet… something doesn't fit.
Because the truth isn't where McCall is looking. It's where he isn't.
As the investigation tightens, McCall must confront a chilling possibility: the answer has been right in front of him from the beginning.
He just couldn't see it.
SECOND CHANCE
Book 1
Publication Date: 16-Feb-2026
This time, he's making it personal.
-
Two years ago, DCI Ewan McCall and his team were hunting a serial killer in the Highlands near Glencoe. Women were being abducted and murdered, and then their corpses were displayed in open shallow graves covered in white linen shrouds. McCall's partner, DS Jessie Kent, was taken. During the hunt for her, McCall tracked the killer down, but he was shot three times and left for dead. Less than an hour later, the killer took his own life.
None of the remaining victims was ever found.
Until now.
DI Megan Ross travels from Glencoe to Edinburgh to ask McCall for help. Somebody has found the decomposed victims and is displaying them in the remote forests near the small town. Despite having left the case behind four years ago, McCall sees this as a chance to find Jessie and bring her home to Edinburgh for a proper burial. And to lay to rest the feelings of guilt he's been carrying since that terrible day.
He agrees to return north with Megan Ross, but it's soon clear somebody doesn't want him back in the Highlands. He's warned off, but he ignores it.
Then the killings start.
Somebody has just accelerated the game from displaying corpses to adding new victims. And this time, he's making it personal...
